3 Ways to Avoid the Fall Feels

This month, we’re talking a lot about the looming change of seasons.

We just had our last 7pm sunset 😭 and grabbing an extra layer is part of each morning’s commute.

As we barrel towards stick season, our focus is on pivoting, not losing, the activities that made summer so joyful.

Here are 3 easy ways to avoid the Fall feels:

  1. Prepare your bundle. Have you enjoyed strolling the neighborhood after work? Now’s the time to invest in a pair of cramp-ons, a reflective vest, and some gloves to keep that going all winter long. If the cold still cuts to your core, you can take your laps at a local community center or mall. It might sound silly, but remember how happy walking makes you feel. Your joy is worth it!

  2. Make a Fall bucket list. So many of us make Summer bucket lists. Why not make one for Fall? Explore your community’s event calendar for activities that spark your interest. ‘Tis the season for corn mazes, farmer’s markets, and apple picking!

  3. Pivot, don’t postpone, your social settings. Have you been socializing around outdoor events like food trucks and concerts? Start brainstorming indoor activities to do instead. You could invite your friends to tackle a new recipe, work on your latest art projects side-by-side, or attend a local class to hone in your skills. Breweries are great spots to visit in the winter, and it doesn’t have to mean buying a drink! You can bring games, crafts, or your favorite book, and I can attest that their lemonades usually hit the spot.

By starting these 3 easy steps now, you’ll head into Fall with a plan.

Instead of feeling like a lost little leaf falling wherever the breeze takes you, you’ll be on the offense - choosing where you will, and won’t, let that cool breeze bring you.
